KITSCH ENCYCLOPEDIA

An encyclopedia of kitsch as defined in an alternate understanding by Milan Kundera. Kundera understands kitsch to be a categorizing phenomenon, a means through which complex human experience is distilled to simple, sentimental motifs.

Kitsch encyclopedia
categorizes this form of kitsch. Kitsch embraces cliché as a defense against the weight of human reality. Kitsch is thus a form of control, a means of dealing with the unknown.
This project is self-directed and content-driven, with all content collected by myself. With excerpts from Simulations by Jean Baudrillard, Mythologies by Roland Barthes and The Unbearable Lightness of Being by Milan Kundera.
